As a business owner, you are always looking for new and innovative ways to market your products or services. You also need to be aware of and adapt to the latest trends and technologies in this ever-changing landscape of marketing.

Consider roving marketing, a creative way to boost customer engagement and interaction at your next event.

Benefits Of Roving Marketing

1. Cost-effective

Roving marketing campaigns are generally much more cost-effective than traditional advertising campaigns. For example, compared to buying a television commercial or radio ad, roving marketing requires little to no upfront costs because most activities involve materials that are either free or inexpensive. Additionally, since roving marketing encourages creative thinking and the use of existing resources, there’s no need to hire expensive agency talent or buy expensive equipment like video cameras.

2. Greater flexibility

Another benefit of roving marketing is its flexibility. Unlike traditional forms of advertising where you must stick to very specific rules and regulations, roving marketing gives you complete freedom to launch campaigns that are tailored specifically for your target audience in any given location. This allows you to take advantage of unexpected opportunities as they arise and respond quickly to changing market conditions without having to worry about following a set formula for your campaign.

3. Engaging customers on a more personal level

Finally, one of the biggest advantages of utilising roving marketing tactics is the ability to engage with customers on a more personal level than what can be achieved through traditional advertising methods. Since roving campaigns often involve face-to-face interactions between marketers and potential customers, it allows businesses to create a deeper connection with their target audience by providing them with an intimate experience that will leave a lasting impression. Additionally, by engaging customers directly at various events or locations, businesses can gather valuable feedback from their audiences which can then be used to improve their products/services or inform future campaigns.

Here are five examples of roving marketing tools to consider when planning your event:

5 Roving Marketing Tools For Your Event

1. Mobile Vans

A type of roving marketing technique, mobile vans are great for getting your message out into the world. You can literally drive it up to potential customers on their doorsteps, providing them with information about your company and its services or products. You can also use mobile vans for promotional events such as concerts or festivals. The best part about utilising a mobile van is that you have the ability to customize it however you like—from the colours of the van itself to the signs that adorn it—so that it stands out from other vehicles on the road. Plus, with mobile vans, you don’t have to worry about finding a place to park—the van becomes its own parking spot!

2. Vehicle wraps

Another roving marketing technique is by using vehicle wraps. Vehicle wraps are essentially large vinyl stickers that completely cover a car or truck with an advertisement for your business. This is an effective way of getting your message out there because people will see these advertisements while they’re driving around town or even when they’re parked outside of businesses or homes. What makes vehicle wraps so effective is that they are eye-catching and colourful, making them hard to miss! Plus, with vehicle wraps, you don’t have to worry about setting up any infrastructure as long as you have access to a car or truck that can be wrapped.

3. Pop-Up Tents

Pop-up tents are another great tool for roving marketing purposes. Pop-up tents are portable structures that unfold quickly and easily in order to provide shade and shelter at outdoor events such as fairs and festivals. These event advertising tents come in various sizes and can be customised with multi-coloured air puppets or LED arches specific to your business so that passer-bys will know who is providing this shaded area for them during the hot days! Furthermore, pop-up tents are collapsible so they are easy to transport from one event location to another, which makes them ideal for roving marketers who need something lightweight but sturdy enough for multiple uses over time.

4. Mascot rental

Mascots have been used in marketing for years, and for good reason - they're fun, engaging, and often memorable. Most businesses in Singapore typically rent a roving mascot to host events or appearances. This can be anything from a meet-and-greet at a trade show to a parade float in a neighbourhood parade. Not only does this give people a chance to meet your mascot (and potentially take photos with them), but it also gets your business name out in front of potential customers, which is a powerful event branding strategy.

5. Emcees

Emcees are live, on-site brand ambassadors who help to create an engaging and interactive experience for guests. They are experts at working a crowd and can be used to support a wide variety of marketing initiatives, from product launches and trade shows to corporate functions and street fairs.

The key to using roving emcees effectively is to make sure they're deployed in high-traffic areas where they're likely to reach your target audience. For example, if you're looking to reach college students, setting up an emcee near a campus dining hall or library is a good option.

While it may seem like a lot of work, branding is actually a very important part of event planning. Done correctly, it can help you attract more attendees, build buzz around your event, and leave a lasting impression on attendees, providing them with an experience they will remember long after the event is over.

So, how do you go about successfully branding your event?

How To Build Your Event’s Brand

Many people think that event branding is simply a matter of coming up with a catchy name and logo. However, successful event branding goes far beyond that. To create a strong brand for your event, you need to consider things like your target audience, your theme, your location, and more.

The first step is to articulate the key message that you want your event to communicate. What are the core values that you want to convey? What feeling do you want attendees to have when they think about your event? Once you have a clear understanding of your event’s identity, you can begin to develop the visual aspects of your brand.

Event branding is all about creating a cohesive and recognisable identity for your event. Use the same colours, fonts, and logo across all of your marketing materials, and make sure that your website and social media accounts are all branded in the same way that captures the essence of your event.

It's also important to carry your brand through to the day of the event itself, with everything from the venue decoration to the name tags and goodie bags bearing your chosen logo or identity.

Why Is Event Branding Important

Here are three key reasons why successful event branding is so important:

1. Create a positive first impression

First impressions matter. When someone comes across your event for the first time, you have one chance to make a good impression. If your branding is strong, that first impression will be a positive one that will encourage the person to learn more about your event. But if your branding is weak or unfinished, that first impression will be a negative one that could discourage the person from ever considering attending your event.

2. Generate excitement

Strong branding can generate excitement and anticipation leading up to an event. When people are excited about an upcoming event, they're more likely to attend, and they're more likely to tell their friends and family about it too.

3. Generates word-of-mouth marketing

After a successful event, attendees will often talk about their experience with friends and family members who weren't able to attend. If your branding is strong, those word-of-mouth conversations will be positive ones that could result in even more people attending your next event. It helps your company achieve your specific goals and objectives as well as build equity in your brand so that attendees will be more likely to participate in future events that you hold.

So, you've decided to throw a party. Now comes the hard part: actually planning the event. From choosing a venue to sending out invitations, there's a lot to think about. And that's not even mentioning the food, drinks, and entertainment! Fortunately, there is one easy solution to all your party-planning woes: hiring an event planner in Singapore.

Who Are Event Party Planners

Event party planners are individuals who are responsible for organising and coordinating all aspects of an event. This can include everything from booking the venue and selecting the catering to arrange transportation and overseeing set-up.

They must be able to work with a wide range of vendors, including caterers, florists, and entertainment companies as well as be able to handle last-minute changes and unexpected problems.

Here are three reasons why you need an event party planner.

1.  They have the experience and expertise to make your party a success

Event planners have years of experience in dealing with all the logistics of putting together a great event. They know how to work with vendors, find the best deals, and handle any unexpected problems that might arise. In short, they know how to throw a good party!

2. They will save you time and stress

Planning a party can be a full-time job–and a very stressful one at that! By hiring an party planner, you can take care of all the details and then sit back and enjoy the party worry-free.

3. They will help you stay within your budget

An experienced party planner will have access to a wide network of vendors and suppliers. This means that they can get the best possible prices on food, drinks, and entertainment. They can also negotiate discounts with vendors. As a result, you'll be able to stick to your budget without sacrificing any of the fun.

What To Look Out For In Your Event Party Planner

Here are some things to look for in an event party planner:

Organised: First and foremost, you want someone who is organised and efficient. A good event planner will be able to keep track of all the details involved in planning your event. They should be able to create timelines and schedules, and make sure that everything is taken care of in a timely manner.

Detail-orientated: Events and parties requires a lot of attention to detail. Your planner should be able to handle everything from finding the perfect venue to organising transportation and accommodation for your guests.

Creative: Other than being detail-oriented, a good event party planner will be creative and resourceful, coming up with unique ideas to make your event memorable. They should also be able to work within your budget to get the most bang for your buck.

Flexible: Things inevitably come up when you're organising an event. A good planner will be flexible and able to adapt on the fly, making sure that your event goes off without a hitch. They should also be creative and resourceful, think on their feet, and come up with solutions to unexpected problems that may arise.

Every event is different, and so is every venue. That's why it's important to do a site recce before finalising a venue for your event. A site recce is simply a walk-through of the area, during which you assess the space and make note of any potential problems.

There are a number of factors to consider, and you should make sure to ask the following questions during your event management site recce:

man having fun at event party

Question #1: What is the capacity of the venue?

The capacity will determine how many people can attend the event and how much space will be available. This includes both seated and standing guests.

Make sure you know how many people the space can comfortably accommodate so you can plan your event accordingly.

individuals having a party in a room

Question #2: What is the layout of the venue?

The layout of the venue is another important factor to consider when planning an event. The size and shape of the room will determine how many people can be accommodated and what type of activities can take place. However, determining the right layout for your event can be tricky, especially if you're unfamiliar with the space.

There are a few key things to keep in mind that will help you figure out the perfect layout for your event. Think about how people will move around the space. You don't want people to feel cramped or have to jostle for position. Pay attention to things like doors, windows, and exits so you can plan the flow of traffic at your event.

Also, consider the various activities that will take place during the event and make sure there is enough space for each activity. For example, a large open space may be suitable for a dance, concert, or themed party, while a smaller room with multiple partitions can be used for a conference or lecture series.

asking what facilities does the venue have during event management

Question #3: What facilities does the venue have?

Most venues will have basic amenities such as restrooms and parking, but some may also offer additional features such as a catering kitchen, audio-visual equipment, or a stage.

Before booking a venue, be sure to inquire about the facilities that will be available and whether they meet your needs. For example, if you're planning on having music or speeches at your event, make sure the venue has good acoustics so you don’t find yourself scrambling to make arrangements on the day of the event.

Taking the time to manage and evaluate the facilities at a potential space can help to ensure that your event runs smoothly.

Question #4: Does the venue have any special requirements or restrictions?

Other than the facilities provided, you should also be aware of any special requirements or restrictions. The last thing you want is to be surprised by a rule or regulation that you didn't know about. Doing your research upfront during your event management will help you avoid any stressful surprises down the road.

For example, some venues may require a minimum number of attendees, or they may have noise restrictions that you need to be aware of. Others may have special equipment that you need to use, or they may only be available at certain times of the year.

calculating how much venue costs during event management

Question #5: How much does the venue cost?

Make sure you get a clear idea of all the costs associated with renting the space, so there are no surprises down the line.

The size of the venue will have the biggest impact on the overall cost. A larger venue will obviously be more expensive than a smaller one. The location of the venue can also affect the cost. Venues in the city centre will typically be more expensive than those in the neighbourhoods.

However, there are plenty of ways to save money on your venue without sacrificing quality or style. Organisers can consider negotiating with the venue owner, booking during off-peak times, or choosing a less expensive location.

Other costs, such as food and entertainment, should also be considered when planning an event. Working with a professional event planner makes it possible to find a venue that fits your budget and your vision for the personal or corporate event.

There's nothing like entertaining friends and family at a party or event. The laughter, the memories, the good food— it's all part of the fun.

Unfortunately, with all the hustle and bustle that comes with entertaining, it's easy to let food safety slip through the cracks and the last thing you want to worry about is food poisoning.

But by taking a few simple precautions, you can rest assured that your guests will enjoy their meal without getting sick. So how do you ensure that your party food remains clean during events?

person washing hands with soap during party to prevent food poisoning

1. Wash your hands & utensils

Make sure all of your utensils and surfaces are clean before you start preparing the party food. This includes washing your hands thoroughly and sanitising any cutting boards or counters. This is especially important if you have been handling raw meat or poultry.

keeping foods separate to prevent contamination at parties

2. Keep the food separate

When it comes to food poisoning, cross-contamination is one of the biggest culprits. This occurs when bacteria from raw meat or other contaminated food items come into contact with ready-to-eat food.

To avoid cross-contamination, keep raw meat separate from other party food items, both in storage and while you're preparing meals. Use separate cutting boards for meat and produce, and don't hesitate to wash them (and your hands) in between uses.

chef cooking food properly at parties in singapore

3. Cook the food properly

Other than keeping food separate, be sure to cook food properly. Whole meats ought to be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 65°C, minced meats cooked to at least 70–75°C, and poultry should be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 74°C.

If you don’t have time to prepare the party food, consider getting pre-packed ones such as  pre-packaged popcorn or pre-packed candy floss. Convenient and hygienic, they can be kept fresh for weeks. Simply open the container and enjoy these satisfying treats when you’re ready to eat without any mess or fuss.

Or how about hiring live food station caterers? These stations offer a unique and interactive dining experience as guests can watch as their food is prepared right in front of them. They can also help to speed up service. Your party guests can place their orders and then move on to another activity while their food is being prepared.

serving food promptly during parties

4. Serve the food promptly and properly

Once cooked, serve your food promptly and don't let them sit out for too long for more than two hours.

Keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. If you're serving buffet-style, make sure to keep food covered as much as possible. This will help to keep dust and other airborne contaminants from landing on the food.

Be sure to inspect your disposables for any dirt or debris before passing them to your guests. If you're serving finger foods, consider using toothpicks or small forks to help guests avoid contact with contaminated surfaces.

Do also be on the lookout for signs of spoilage such as mould or a bad odour. Any food that appears to be spoiled or has been mishandled should be thrown away immediately.

storing food properly at parties

5. Store the food properly

Bacteria and other contaminants thrive in warm, moist conditions, making it easy for them to multiply and contaminate the party food after more than two hours. Leftovers should be refrigerated within two hours of being served.

If there are party food leftovers, store them properly and keep them at the appropriate temperatures. Refrigerated items should be kept at 4°C or below, while frozen items should be kept at -18°C and below. Party foods that are particularly susceptible to bacterial growth, such as meat and seafood should also be wrapped tightly and stored in the freezer.

In today’s competitive landscape, event marketing is essential for any business that wants to engage its audience and build long-term relationships.

Some event examples include trade fairs, seminars, and street pop-ups. They are typically held to launch new products or services, reward customers and employees, or simply thank clients and partners for their support.

Here are three reasons why event marketing is a great way to engage your audience.

A person holding a megaphone

Description automatically generated with low confidence

1. Generates buzz

Event marketing can be a great way to generate word-of-mouth buzz and interest in your product or service. The type of event can be a small, intimate affair or a large-scale public gathering. Whatever it is, the goal is always the same: to get people talking about the product, service, or brand being promoted.

Customers who have a positive experience at an event are more likely to tell their family and friends about it, allowing companies to reach a wider audience. Additionally, events provide an opportunity to generate positive media coverage. Even if only a small number of people attend an event, the publicity surrounding it can reach a much wider audience.

2. Creates a physical space for interaction

Event marketing also allows companies to create a physical space for potential customers to interact with their brand. In an increasingly digital world, event marketing provides a unique opportunity for businesses to connect face-to-face with customers in a way that is difficult to replicate online.

This can be done through product demonstrations, workshops, or simply by providing a fun and inviting atmosphere. By providing opportunities for people to learn about and experience the product, service, or brand first-hand, events allow companies to create an experience that people will remember and talk about. Through fostering interaction, event marketing builds relationships with customers and creates a sense of community around your brand

3. Builds relationships

Lastly, event marketing is a great way to build relationships with both potential and current customers. By hosting or sponsoring an event, businesses have the opportunity to connect with individuals in a more personal setting. This allows customers to see the human side of the company, and it also gives them a chance to offer feedback or ask questions in a relaxed setting.

Fun and engaging events can also encourage their customers to come back again and again, deepening the relationship between businesses and consumers. They are more likely to be loyal to brands that they feel connected to.

Examples Of Event Marketing Ideas

Event marketing can take many different forms, from small, intimate gatherings to large-scale ones like trade shows or conferences. Regardless of the size or scope of the event, the goal is always to create an experience that will engage and motivate attendees to take action.

Trade shows and conferences: These large-scale events are often good choices for product launches because they provide an opportunity to reach many potential customers quickly.

Seminar, workshops, and pop-up booths: If your goal is to generate leads, consider hosting a seminar or workshop on a topic related to your product or service. This will give attendees the chance to learn more about your company and what you have to offer as well as help you build relationships with potential customers.

At these events, consider making use of claw machines to generate attention. They are a popular choice for event marketing in Singapore as they provide a unique and interactive way to promote products or services. These arcade favourites can also be customised to feature branded prizes to be won, providing potential customers with a fun and engaging way to interact with a brand.

One of the most important elements to consider when planning a corporate event is the party theme. Choosing the right theme for your next corporate event can be the difference between a successful gathering and a flop. Feeling stuck on which one to choose? Here are ten of the best party theme ideas for your next corporate event.

1. Retro

Take things back in time with a vintage-inspired corporate event. To get started, choose a decade or era as your theme. Do you want to go back to the ‘80s, ‘90s, or ‘00s? Transform your venue with vintage décor like disco balls and sparkly lights as well as play old-school tunes. Add some classic games like Five Stones and Pinball into the mix and your guests will definitely feel like they are being transported back in time.

2. Sports

A sports theme is always a hit at corporate events. Deck the halls with sports memorabilia and decorate the tables with sports-themed centrepieces. Creating teams based on department or company seniority is also a great way to get everyone involved.

Plenty of games can be played to accommodate all skill levels. For beginner players, try out Arcade Basketball, Table Tennis, or Inflatable Darts. For intermediate and advanced players, how about getting them to compete in extreme sports games like Human Soccer, Sumo Wrestler, or Gladiator Dome?

3. Superheroes

Dressing up as your favourite superhero is a great way to let your inner child out, and it can also be a lot of fun for a corporate event party. This theme is also very suitable for events that are meant to be inspiring or motivational.

Decorate the venue with comic book-inspired decorations. For activities, you can rent a photo booth for guests to take action-packed photos of themselves in costume, get a superhero-themed bouncy castle, and even have an airbrush tattoo station!

4. Circus

A circus-themed corporate party can definitely help to create a festive atmosphere. From clown mascots and acrobats to jugglers and magicians, there are a variety of acts that can add excitement and intrigue to your party. Decorating your venue is also easy – just think colourful air streamers, balloons, and rainbow arches. To really bring the circus theme to life, consider serving circus-themed foods like cotton candy, popcorn, and churros

5. Beach

Want to add a little tropical flair to your corporate event party? Then consider a beach theme! A beach party can help your guests relax and escape the stresses of work. Think about incorporating fun elements like palm trees and Hawaiian music. You can even hire a live band or DJ to provide some beach-themed tunes. Party favours can include beach towels and sunglasses.

The menu should feature some light and refreshing delights, such as colourful cocktails and iced popsicles. And of course, don't forget to plan for the water games, such as renting an inflatable pool or a water obstacle course.

6. Hollywood

This theme is perfect for an event that is meant to be glamorous and fun. To get started, decorate the venue with movie posters, red carpets, and other Hollywood-inspired props. Then, set the mood by playing popular movie soundtrack songs. As for food, serve up classic Hollywood fares like champagne and oysters.

For entertainment, hire a celebrity impersonator or put together a fun movie trivia game hosted by a professional emcee. And don't forget the paparazzi! Set up a photo booth with props like oversized sunglasses and boas so your guests can snap some shots that are sure to be unforgettable.

7. Around the World

This theme is ideal for an event that is meant to celebrate diversity. Decorate your event space with items from all over the world, from traditional masks and artwork to more modern items like travel posters.

Make sure you have a variety of food and drink options from different countries. This will help your guests feel like they're truly experiencing different cultures. For example, you can serve up local Asian delights like Ice Kacang and Tutu Kueh and Western favourites like Pizza and Fish and Chips.

Portrait of young beautiful woman wearing golden party mask over black background. Venice Carnival, masquerade ball or New Year party.

8. Masquerade ball

A masquerade ball is a great option for an elegant corporate event. Guests will have to wear masks to conceal their identity. Games and activities can also be added to the mix, such as face painting and balloon sculpting. You can even set up prize redemption machines for the best-dressed individuals or host a contest for the most creative mask designs.

9. Murder-Mystery

Ready to solve a crime? A murder-mystery-themed corporate event is the best way to get your team working together. Guests will be assigned a character and given clues to help them solve the mystery. If you want to add excitement to your corporate event, a murder mystery-themed event is a perfect solution for party planners looking for something different.

10. Winter Wonderland

For a festive touch, why not go with a winter wonderland theme? This can be easily achieved by decorating the venue with fake snow, icicles, and evergreen trees. You can also serve winter-themed cocktails and food, such as mulled wine and gingerbread cookies. This is best held for year-end parties.

National Day in Singapore is celebrated every year on August 9th to commemorate the country's independence from British rule. As we celebrate this special occasion, why not also add some Singapore-inspired fun and games to the mix? Here are six ideas from The Carnival Fair that are sure to get you in the spirit of National Day during your event!

1. Iconic Dragon Playground Bouncy Castle

Every Singaporean is probably familiar with the iconic Dragon Playground in Toa Payoh. Built in 1979, it is one of the few remaining playgrounds from that era that is still intact today.

Our Dragon Playground Bouncy Castle is available for rental for any carnival games or events in Singapore. Towering at a height of four metres and fitting up to 14 children, it contains climbing walls, tunnels, and a giant slide for hours of entertainment.

2. Glitter Glue Tattoo

For National Day, why not try getting a Glitter Glue Tattoo? We have Singapore-inspired designs, such as the lion, crescent, and stars. All you need is a sticky sheet and a few different colours of glitter. Simply paste the sticky sheet to the desired area on your skin and then sprinkle the glitter over top. Wait a few minutes for the glue to dry, and then you're ready to go! If you love this idea, check out our other fun event activities suitable for both kids and adults alike.

3. Photo Booth

A photo booth is a fun, unique way to capture memories of your event day. Gone are the days of grainy prints and low-quality photos. Modern photo booths use high-resolution cameras and professional-grade printers to produce stunning images that guests will be proud to display. Best of all, the pictures can be printed out or shared digitally on the spot.

To put a uniquely Singaporean twist, design some photo booth props such as iconic Singlish phrases like “Bojio”, “Toh”, “Chope”, and “Lepak” to use at your photo booth!

4. Ball Pit

There's something about a ball pit that just screams fun. Maybe it's the fact that you can dive right in and start playing without having to set up any equipment. Or maybe it's just the way the colourful balls create a festive atmosphere.

Ball pits are also sensory havens for children – the soft balls provide tactile stimulation, while their different colours can be visually stimulating. Fill the rented pit with red and white balls for the ultimate show of patriotism this National Day!

5. Live Food Station

Live food stations are a great way to serve fresh food at your event or party. In light of National Day, go for classic Singapore snacks such as the spice-laden Kacang Puteh, sweet Tutu Kueh, or chewy Muah Chee

Everyone knows that Singapore’s weather can be real hot. Beat the heat with cool snacks like the colourful Ice Kacang or Potong Ice Cream that comes in various local flavours like red bean or durian.

6. Old-School Singapore Games

Today, many traditional local games are being forgotten as people turn to digital forms of entertainment. However, the simplicity of these classics is what makes them so special. So, why not round up some friends and have a go at these old-school games the next time you're feeling nostalgic?

Start with Five Stones where the objective is to throw one weighted stone into the air and catch it with the remaining other four stones. Another classic is Marble Balls, also known as goli, where you must hit your opponent's marbles with your own. For something a little more physical, go for Chap Teh, where players use their feet to keep a feathered shuttlecock in the air. Alternatively, try your hand at Pick Up Sticks or Congkak, which require you to test your strategic thinking skills.

Whatever game you choose, you're sure to have hours of fun reliving your childhood memories.
