We’re all ready to start the new year off right, and what better way to do that than by hosting an unforgettable New Year's party? Whether you plan on keeping it small or going all out, these ideas will help you make your 2023 celebrations one for the books!
What would a New Year celebration be without some great tunes? Create a playlist ahead of time that will have your guests singing along and dancing all night long. Make sure to have a variety of genres including everyone’s favorite songs from 2021. You can also put together a list of “2023 Hits In Singapore” which can include songs from upcoming artists and albums that are set to release in the new year. Or maybe, you can even play some Chinese New Year songs to get ready for the Lunar New Year which falls on mid January 2023.
A great way to get everyone excited for the countdown is to create your own festive video. You can include memorable moments from the past year, as well as highlight your hopes and dreams for 2023. If you’re tech-savvy, try making a stop motion video of printed photos or use one of the many online video editing tools available. This is sure to be a hit amongst family and friends!
3. Plan some fun New Year celebration activities
Keep your guests entertained with some fun activities! For example, you could create a water obstacle course in the backyard or set up a Singapore Dragon Bouncy Castle. If you want to go for something more low-key, board games or karaoke competitions are always fun too! No matter what activities you decide on, make sure they are appropriate for all ages so no one feels left out during the New Year celebration festivities.
Good food and drinks are essential for any successful New Year celebration! If you're feeling adventurous, try making some unique snacks like mini pizzas or tacos filled with festive ingredients like black beans and corn chips. Be sure to cook your food well to ensure they are safe for consumption. For those who are too busy to prepare the food, how about hiring some live food stations to let the chefs cook them for you?
For those who are over 21 years old, why not throw a cocktail-making New Year party celebration? Gather up all your favourite spirits and mixers (or purchase premade ones), then break out into teams and see who can create the best drink concoction out of what you have available! Make it even more interesting by having each group name their drink after themselves—it could become the next big thing in cocktails!
It's never too early to start planning for 2023! With these five tips in mind, planning your party and throwing an unforgettable New Year's event is now easier than ever before.

Christmas time is here, and that means it's time to start planning the perfect party! One of the best things about the festive season is getting together with family and friends to celebrate.
Whether you're hosting a corporate office holiday party or a family gathering, making sure everyone has fun should be at the top of your list. Trying to come up with some fun Christmas party games that will entertain all your guests? To help you make this year's event a hit, here are five festive and fun game ideas for adults to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
Test your guests’ knowledge of all things Christmas with a fun round of trivia during your party! Create questions based on popular holiday movies, music, traditions, and more. You can even divide guests into teams to compete against one another or play a game of “Name That Tune” using classic holiday songs.
For a classic Christmas party game with a holiday twist, try playing charades with Christmas-themed words and phrases. This game is always sure to be a hit at any party! Split the adults into two teams and have them take turns acting out different holiday-themed words or phrases without talking such as “Jingle Bells” or “Christmas Tree Decorating”.
Besides charades and trivia, get everyone moving with an exciting scavenger hunt! Hide items around the house that relate to Christmas such as candy canes, tinsel garland, ornaments, and more for your guests to find. The team who finds all their items first wins!
For this game, each guest brings one wrapped gift (no peeking!) and puts it in a pile at the center of the room. Mix up all the gifts so they are not in their original order and then have each guest pick one from the pile at random – you never know what you’ll end up with at your Christmas party!
If you want to get everyone moving, set up an obstacle course to test your guests coordination! Players must maneuver their way through each challenge while competing against each other. The route can feature different blocks, tunnels, and slides which are perfect for players of all ages and sizes. Consider renting the Ultimate Challenge Bouncy Castle or Survivor Challenge Bouncy Castle if you don’t wish to set up the obstacle course manually.
No matter what games you choose, they're sure to add some festive fun to your Christmas party.
The Carnival Fair is one of the leading game rental company in Singapore. Our bouncy castles, ball pits, and carnival games can be customised for any events in Singapore so you can have an unforgettable time at your next Christmas party.
So, gather the adults and kids together to enjoy these festive games. There’s sure to be something for everyone that will get your guests in the holiday spirit and have hours of laughter-filled entertainment this season!

Here are eight delicious party food ideas that even the pickiest of eaters will love.
Let's be honest, chicken nuggets are always a hit—no matter who you invite. They're especially perfect for birthday parties because they can be eaten with your hands and don't require any utensils. Plus, they can be dipped in sauces or eaten plain. No matter how you serve them, chicken nuggets are sure to be a hit with even the picky eaters.
Another fan favourite, mini pizza is another food that can be easily eaten with your hands. They are easy to make and can be customised to please both adults and kids alike. Just top them with whatever ingredients you like best! Which individual will turn down the good ol’ pizza?
Hot dog buns are another classic birthday party food that everyone loves—even the pickiest of eaters. They're easy to eat and can also be customised to each person's liking. For example, you can have ketchup and mustard on hand for those who like their hot dogs traditional style or get creative and add some unusual toppings like relish or sauerkraut for those who prefer a more exotic taste. Whatever you do, just make sure there are plenty of hot dogs to go around—they're bound to be a hit!
Fruit skewers are a healthy and fun party treat. Simply thread pieces of fresh fruit onto skewers and serve with a dipping sauce like this honey yoghurt dip. Yum! This is especially great for those birthday party guests who are watching their waistlines or are health-conscious. They're light but filling, and they offer a sweetness that even picky eaters will enjoy. Plus, they're easy to make ahead of time and can be served at room temperature safely—which is always nice when you're hosting a birthday party and making sure your food is safe to eat!
Cheese quesadillas are another crowd-pleasing birthday party favourite. To get started, simply choose your favourite type of cheese and tortillas. For a bit of spice, try adding some chopped jalapeños or cayenne pepper to the mix. If you're feeling really adventurous, you could even experiment with different types of cheese, such as goat cheese or brie. For a twist, try serving them deconstructed style by setting out all of the components and letting your guests build their own. So good!

And there are so many different types of dip out there that you're sure to find one that everyone will love. Anyone who's ever been to a birthday party knows that they can be quite costly affairs. Cake, presents, goodie bags, decorations, and venue rentals all add up quickly! And that's not even taking into account the cost of your time and effort in organising the whole event.
So, how much should you set aside for a birthday party in Singapore? Here's a breakdown of some common costs to help you plan the perfect party on a reasonable budget.
One of the biggest expenses when planning a birthday party is renting a venue. If you have a large enough home, you may be able to host the party there—but if not, there are plenty of other options.
Popular venues for birthday parties in Singapore include restaurants, cafes, bars, clubhouses in condominiums, and even public parks. For a party of ten or fewer people, you can expect to pay around $50 per hour for a small party room rental. For larger parties of 20-30 people, the cost increases to S$250 per hour for a big party room rental.
Expected damage for a birthday party with 15 guests: S$200 and above for four hours in an air-conditioned party room in Singapore
Of course, no birthday party is complete without food and drinks!
Hosting a simple sit-down party lunch or dinner? If everyone orders an entree and a drink from the menu, you can expect to spend around S$30-S$50 per person.
If you're providing your own party food and drinks, you can cut costs by shopping at local supermarkets or online retailers. Don’t forget to cater for birthday favours! One idea is to distribute prepacked snacks like packaged cotton candy and packaged popcorn to your guests as a take-home gift. A rough estimate for food and drink costs that includes party snack favours is S$15-S$20 per person.
Want to go all out? Live food stations are also available for hire. Prices start from roughly S$180 onwards for an hour.
Expected damage for a birthday party with 15 guests: S$450 for a sit-down lunch/dinner and S$225 for a party celebration
Birthday parties shouldn't just be about eating—they should also be fun! That's why it's important to factor the cost of entertainment into your party budget.
Popular forms of entertainment for birthday parties include hiring entertainers like clowns and magicians (around S$200 onwards), renting inflatable bouncy castles (around S$150 onwards), and fun carnival games like bowling booths and milk can toss booths (around S$100 onwards).
Of course, there are plenty of other options like ball pits available, so choose whatever will make your child's birthday party special and memorable!
Expected damage for a birthday party with 15 guests: S$250 for two types of games
When it comes to birthday party decorations, the sky is the limit. Balloons, streamers, and banners are all classic decors that can help to transform any space into a festive celebration. For a more personal touch, consider using photos or other mementoes to decorate the space. Or, if you want to really make a statement, go all out with birthday party props like air puppets and air dancers.
Expected damage for a birthday party with 15 guests: S$150 for simple decorations and $500 for elaborate decorations
So, summing up the total amount, it’d cost roughly S$825 to throw a simple party for 15 guests in Singapore.
If you're looking to have a birthday party on a budget in Singapore, follow the six tips below. Your guests will never know the difference.
1. Set a realistic budget: How much can you realistically afford to spend on the birthday party? Once you have a number in mind, stick to it!
2. Choose an affordable venue: Venue rental costs can eat up a large chunk of your budget, so try to find an affordable option. Think about holding the party at your home, at a park, or even at a community centre.
3. Make your own decorations: With a little creativity and some DIY skills, you can easily make your own decorations instead of buying them from a store. Pinterest is a great resource for DIY decoration ideas.
4. Order a simple cake: Forgo the custom fondant cake and opt for something more simple and affordable instead. A delicious cake doesn't have to be expensive!
5. Skip the goodie bags: Goodie bags are nice, but they're definitely not essential. If you're on a tight budget, skip them altogether or fill them with inexpensive items like stickers or pencils.
6. Opt for party packages: Sometimes, one may forget that time is money too. Party packages save you the hassle and effort of organising a celebration, especially if you’re busy with work. The Carnival Fair offers a diverse selection of party packages. Take your pick from princess to carnival themes, starting from $599 and above.
Planning a birthday party on a budget doesn't have to be difficult—just remember to factor in the cost of renting a venue, food and drinks, entertainment, and decorations. With those four taken care of, your child's birthday party is sure to be a success!

There's nothing like entertaining friends and family at a party or event. The laughter, the memories, the good food— it's all part of the fun.
Unfortunately, with all the hustle and bustle that comes with entertaining, it's easy to let food safety slip through the cracks and the last thing you want to worry about is food poisoning.
But by taking a few simple precautions, you can rest assured that your guests will enjoy their meal without getting sick. So how do you ensure that your party food remains clean during events?
Make sure all of your utensils and surfaces are clean before you start preparing the party food. This includes washing your hands thoroughly and sanitising any cutting boards or counters. This is especially important if you have been handling raw meat or poultry.
When it comes to food poisoning, cross-contamination is one of the biggest culprits. This occurs when bacteria from raw meat or other contaminated food items come into contact with ready-to-eat food.
To avoid cross-contamination, keep raw meat separate from other party food items, both in storage and while you're preparing meals. Use separate cutting boards for meat and produce, and don't hesitate to wash them (and your hands) in between uses.
Other than keeping food separate, be sure to cook food properly. Whole meats ought to be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 65°C, minced meats cooked to at least 70–75°C, and poultry should be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 74°C.
If you don’t have time to prepare the party food, consider getting pre-packed ones such as pre-packaged popcorn or pre-packed candy floss. Convenient and hygienic, they can be kept fresh for weeks. Simply open the container and enjoy these satisfying treats when you’re ready to eat without any mess or fuss.
Or how about hiring live food station caterers? These stations offer a unique and interactive dining experience as guests can watch as their food is prepared right in front of them. They can also help to speed up service. Your party guests can place their orders and then move on to another activity while their food is being prepared.
Once cooked, serve your food promptly and don't let them sit out for too long for more than two hours.
Keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. If you're serving buffet-style, make sure to keep food covered as much as possible. This will help to keep dust and other airborne contaminants from landing on the food.
Be sure to inspect your disposables for any dirt or debris before passing them to your guests. If you're serving finger foods, consider using toothpicks or small forks to help guests avoid contact with contaminated surfaces.
Do also be on the lookout for signs of spoilage such as mould or a bad odour. Any food that appears to be spoiled or has been mishandled should be thrown away immediately.
Bacteria and other contaminants thrive in warm, moist conditions, making it easy for them to multiply and contaminate the party food after more than two hours. Leftovers should be refrigerated within two hours of being served.
If there are party food leftovers, store them properly and keep them at the appropriate temperatures. Refrigerated items should be kept at 4°C or below, while frozen items should be kept at -18°C and below. Party foods that are particularly susceptible to bacterial growth, such as meat and seafood should also be wrapped tightly and stored in the freezer.
No one wants their event to be remembered for all the wrong reasons, so keeping your party food clean is essential. If you're the one hosting the event, there's also a lot of responsibility that comes with it.
By following the above five simple tips, you can make sure your next event is enjoyable–and safe–for everyone involved.

One of the most important elements to consider when planning a corporate event is the party theme. Choosing the right theme for your next corporate event can be the difference between a successful gathering and a flop. Feeling stuck on which one to choose? Here are ten of the best party theme ideas for your next corporate event.
Take things back in time with a vintage-inspired corporate event. To get started, choose a decade or era as your theme. Do you want to go back to the ‘80s, ‘90s, or ‘00s? Transform your venue with vintage décor like disco balls and sparkly lights as well as play old-school tunes. Add some classic games like Five Stones and Pinball into the mix and your guests will definitely feel like they are being transported back in time.
A sports theme is always a hit at corporate events. Deck the halls with sports memorabilia and decorate the tables with sports-themed centrepieces. Creating teams based on department or company seniority is also a great way to get everyone involved.
Plenty of games can be played to accommodate all skill levels. For beginner players, try out Arcade Basketball, Table Tennis, or Inflatable Darts. For intermediate and advanced players, how about getting them to compete in extreme sports games like Human Soccer, Sumo Wrestler, or Gladiator Dome?
Dressing up as your favourite superhero is a great way to let your inner child out, and it can also be a lot of fun for a corporate event party. This theme is also very suitable for events that are meant to be inspiring or motivational.
Decorate the venue with comic book-inspired decorations. For activities, you can rent a photo booth for guests to take action-packed photos of themselves in costume, get a superhero-themed bouncy castle, and even have an airbrush tattoo station!
A circus-themed corporate party can definitely help to create a festive atmosphere. From clown mascots and acrobats to jugglers and magicians, there are a variety of acts that can add excitement and intrigue to your party. Decorating your venue is also easy – just think colourful air streamers, balloons, and rainbow arches. To really bring the circus theme to life, consider serving circus-themed foods like cotton candy, popcorn, and churros.
Want to add a little tropical flair to your corporate event party? Then consider a beach theme! A beach party can help your guests relax and escape the stresses of work. Think about incorporating fun elements like palm trees and Hawaiian music. You can even hire a live band or DJ to provide some beach-themed tunes. Party favours can include beach towels and sunglasses.
The menu should feature some light and refreshing delights, such as colourful cocktails and iced popsicles. And of course, don't forget to plan for the water games, such as renting an inflatable pool or a water obstacle course.
This theme is perfect for an event that is meant to be glamorous and fun. To get started, decorate the venue with movie posters, red carpets, and other Hollywood-inspired props. Then, set the mood by playing popular movie soundtrack songs. As for food, serve up classic Hollywood fares like champagne and oysters.
For entertainment, hire a celebrity impersonator or put together a fun movie trivia game hosted by a professional emcee. And don't forget the paparazzi! Set up a photo booth with props like oversized sunglasses and boas so your guests can snap some shots that are sure to be unforgettable.
This theme is ideal for an event that is meant to celebrate diversity. Decorate your event space with items from all over the world, from traditional masks and artwork to more modern items like travel posters.
Make sure you have a variety of food and drink options from different countries. This will help your guests feel like they're truly experiencing different cultures. For example, you can serve up local Asian delights like Ice Kacang and Tutu Kueh and Western favourites like Pizza and Fish and Chips.
A masquerade ball is a great option for an elegant corporate event. Guests will have to wear masks to conceal their identity. Games and activities can also be added to the mix, such as face painting and balloon sculpting. You can even set up prize redemption machines for the best-dressed individuals or host a contest for the most creative mask designs.
Ready to solve a crime? A murder-mystery-themed corporate event is the best way to get your team working together. Guests will be assigned a character and given clues to help them solve the mystery. If you want to add excitement to your corporate event, a murder mystery-themed event is a perfect solution for party planners looking for something different.
For a festive touch, why not go with a winter wonderland theme? This can be easily achieved by decorating the venue with fake snow, icicles, and evergreen trees. You can also serve winter-themed cocktails and food, such as mulled wine and gingerbread cookies. This is best held for year-end parties.
When it comes to corporate events, you want to make sure that your guests have a good time. After all, a corporate event is a great opportunity to build relationships and networks. The right party theme can really help to set the tone for the event and make it more memorable for attendees.

Meanwhile, older kids and adults may prefer more challenging games like the Alien Extermination Arcade Machine, 00s’ Retro Arcade Game Machine, Air Hockey Table, LED Foosball Table, and High Striker.

National Day in Singapore is celebrated every year on August 9th to commemorate the country's independence from British rule. As we celebrate this special occasion, why not also add some Singapore-inspired fun and games to the mix? Here are six ideas from The Carnival Fair that are sure to get you in the spirit of National Day during your event!
Every Singaporean is probably familiar with the iconic Dragon Playground in Toa Payoh. Built in 1979, it is one of the few remaining playgrounds from that era that is still intact today.
Our Dragon Playground Bouncy Castle is available for rental for any carnival games or events in Singapore. Towering at a height of four metres and fitting up to 14 children, it contains climbing walls, tunnels, and a giant slide for hours of entertainment.
For National Day, why not try getting a Glitter Glue Tattoo? We have Singapore-inspired designs, such as the lion, crescent, and stars. All you need is a sticky sheet and a few different colours of glitter. Simply paste the sticky sheet to the desired area on your skin and then sprinkle the glitter over top. Wait a few minutes for the glue to dry, and then you're ready to go! If you love this idea, check out our other fun event activities suitable for both kids and adults alike.
A photo booth is a fun, unique way to capture memories of your event day. Gone are the days of grainy prints and low-quality photos. Modern photo booths use high-resolution cameras and professional-grade printers to produce stunning images that guests will be proud to display. Best of all, the pictures can be printed out or shared digitally on the spot.
To put a uniquely Singaporean twist, design some photo booth props such as iconic Singlish phrases like “Bojio”, “Toh”, “Chope”, and “Lepak” to use at your photo booth!
There's something about a ball pit that just screams fun. Maybe it's the fact that you can dive right in and start playing without having to set up any equipment. Or maybe it's just the way the colourful balls create a festive atmosphere.
Ball pits are also sensory havens for children – the soft balls provide tactile stimulation, while their different colours can be visually stimulating. Fill the rented pit with red and white balls for the ultimate show of patriotism this National Day!
Live food stations are a great way to serve fresh food at your event or party. In light of National Day, go for classic Singapore snacks such as the spice-laden Kacang Puteh, sweet Tutu Kueh, or chewy Muah Chee.
Everyone knows that Singapore’s weather can be real hot. Beat the heat with cool snacks like the colourful Ice Kacang or Potong Ice Cream that comes in various local flavours like red bean or durian.
Today, many traditional local games are being forgotten as people turn to digital forms of entertainment. However, the simplicity of these classics is what makes them so special. So, why not round up some friends and have a go at these old-school games the next time you're feeling nostalgic?
Start with Five Stones where the objective is to throw one weighted stone into the air and catch it with the remaining other four stones. Another classic is Marble Balls, also known as goli, where you must hit your opponent's marbles with your own. For something a little more physical, go for Chap Teh, where players use their feet to keep a feathered shuttlecock in the air. Alternatively, try your hand at Pick Up Sticks or Congkak, which require you to test your strategic thinking skills.
Whatever game you choose, you're sure to have hours of fun reliving your childhood memories.
National Day is also an opportunity to reflect on the country's achievements over the past year and to look ahead to the future.
Whether you’re throwing a birthday party or planning a road show, we hope the above ideas will inspire you this coming National Day. Do check out our blog and portfolio for other event ideas. Contact us to level up your event now!
